Faith La Rocque Steven Mykietyn
Out Mess or Clean
November 18-24th 2004
Vennel Project space Installation/performance/project
Over the course of one week, Faith and Steve will set up the Vennel project space as a domestic arrangement, utilizing furniture and everyday objects/materials. After-hours, Steve will deconstruct and derange. During the day, Faith will construct and organize. In a 24-hour cycle, the space will undergo transformation from chaos to order. The Rules: No human or animal waste, including certain foods, is to be permitted in the mess-making. No offensive odours will be employed. Faith and Steve may otherwise make use of any materials or methods they wish. This piece will examine the creative process, labour, and gender roles. Viewers are invited to enter the space and watch us in our respective tasks. We will be documenting the process using digital video and still images.
Supporting Texts: Questionnaire (this document was produced as part of a series of questionnaries/surveys that were produced and printed from the internet spanning from Hockey Injury Reports to Immigation forms for U.K. citizens)
